Studio Motte is an architectural practice based in Lisbon, established by Filipe Ferreira in 2022. The firm brings together a collaborative team of architects, engineers, and builders, united by their extensive experience and shared vision. Grounded in the philosophy that architecture serves as both a cultural and technical tool for enhancing urban environments and the lives they sustain, Studio Motte is dedicated to a context-based, pragmatic, and innovative approach. Our work responds to contemporary living needs and addresses the critical issues of sustainability. Each project at Studio Motte is treated as unique, developed through a rigorous process of research by design. This methodology ensures that every project, alongside its client and contextual setting, receives a tailored and thoughtful response. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in the diverse scale and type of our projects, all of which prioritize quality, functionality, and aesthetic value. Studio Motteʼs work was exhibited at the CCB (2023), showcased at the Open House Lisboa (2022), and widely published in several international magazines and websites.

Filipe Ferreira (Coimbra, 1986) began his architecture studies at the Department of Architecture of the University of Coimbra. He furthered his education at the Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio (AAM) in Switzerland, supported by a scholarship, where he completed his Master of Architecture under the tutorship of Jonathan Sergison. Between 2010 and 2016, Filipe worked and accumulated valuable know-how at several national and international firms - SAM Architekten, PROMONTORIO, Luís Rebelo de Andrade Arquitectos, and Paulo David Arquitectos –, and in 2016 he co-founded arriba architects. In 2020, leveraging his technical expertise, he co-founded assemble – a construction firm -, and in 2022 he founded Studio Motte. Throughout his career, Filipe has navigated the realms of urbanism, housing, offices, hospitality, industry and retail, undertaking the design, coordination and development of several projects.
